Patriots Jets MNF blog

A dream first quarter from the Pats.  Brady with a touchdown pass, BenJarvus with a short TD run and a 41 yard Shayne Graham field goal.  Pats 17-0 over the Jets.

Wonder start for the Pats.  Gotta keep getting after it.  Cromartie looks bad in the Branch matchup.  Brady looking every bit the MVP candidate (take note Phillip Rivers).

Watch this space.  More at the half

Midway 3rd quarter Update:

The Pats rolled into the half in full control, 24-3.  The Jets got the ball to start the second.  They marched down the field, and proceeded to throw an interception at the 5 yard line.  Thanks Mark Sanchez.  The Pats proceeded to march down the field, picking up huge yardage on a completion to Aaron Hernandez (the new Tony Gonzalez) and capping the drive off on a Brady to Welker touchdown.  Pats 31-Jets 3.  Ladies and gentlemen, the rout is on!

End of the 3rd Quarter Updated:

Sanchez is coming unglued.  2 picks in the quarter.  The second coming on a desperation "trying to make something happen" heave that might as well have been thrown to Devin McCourty intentionally.  Danny Woodhead taking the opportunity to make the Jets pay for cutting him, gashing the Jets for a 50 yard run.  Patriots end the 3rd quarter at the Jets 1 yard line.  And punch it in for 6 on the first play of the 4th quarter.

The statement has been made.  Pats 38-Jets 3.  14:57 left in the 4th.  Jets hoping for a mercy kill at this point.

Final:  Patriots 45 - Jets 3

Ladies and gentlemen, the technical term for tonight's showdown is "ass whipping."

Look out for a follow up tomorrow.  Go Pats!
