Finally! A News Story - Urban Meyer Resigns... Again

2 time national championship winning coach and apparently serial nutcase Urban Meyer has resigned from the head coaching job at the University of Florida.  Again.  For the second year in a row.

Meyer, who comes across when speaking publicly as a bit of a dickhead, has a history of stress related illness and from all reports is a guy who works 26 hours a day, 8 days a week.  Needless to say, this is a combustible situation.

So, for at least the next 24 hours, Urban Meyer is not the head coach at Florida.  But keep checking back at this space, as who really knows with this guy.

Also, let's start the unsubstantiated rumor carousel about who his replacement will be.  Early favorites (based on no factual evidence whatsoever) are:

John Gruden - Rumored for every job at this point
Mark Richt - If you can't beat 'em, join 'em
Billy Donovan - Trying to establish himself as a dual threat
Bill Walsh - Oops, forgot he was dead
Gus Malzahn - The right guy for the job.  Current Auburn offensive coordinator and offensive genius

  1. He never resigned! He was taking a leave at first to work on his health. He couldn't stay away from the game. Get your facts straight.

    Gruden, is going Nowhere.
Richt- Isnt he the one who was QB for the Bills when they came back from 38 down?
Donovan doesn't like the fact that it may rain and his hair would get ruined. He's out.
Walsh- Good catch. He is dead!
Guys name is Gus. where does he sign!

I was thinking Cam Newtons Dad would be a good fit. He can also star in the new Blue Chips movie dubbed :Blue Chips...Football addition starring Cam Newton, Mike Vick, and Tim Tebow.

You have a computer thief. a dog killer (Paid his dues), and a Jesus lover...

  2. For the record, you are not right about Urban Meyer. He resigned, the school talked him into a leave of absence 24 hours later, which he agreed to.

    Richt is the Georgia coach.

Cam Newton's dad would be a good fit and we know hes' got an extra $180K hanging around.
