Breaking News - Carl Crawford to Red Sox

The Yankees are officially shitting bricks.

In a move sure to send shock waves through Major League Baseball let alone the AL East.  Carl Crawford has agreed to a $142mil deal to join the Red Sox.

The Sox, fresh off of making the game changing trade for Adrian Gonzalez, have landed the biggest fish on the free agent market outside of Cliff Lee.

The Yankees have to be in full panic mode at this point.  Usually the league's dominant force in the off season market, the Yanks have been a complete disappointment since the season's end.  Overpaying for Derek Jeter and having their hand forced by the Red Sox and subsequently overpaying for Mariano Rivera, the Yankees will have little choice to but splash the cash on Cliff Lee.

The projected lineup on opening day at Fenway will look a lot like this:

1.  Dustin Pedroia
2.  Carl Crawford
3.  Adrian Gonzalez
4.  Kevin Youkilis
5.  David Ortiz
6.  JD Drw
7.  Marco Scutaro
8.  Jarrod Saltalamaccia
9.  Jacoby Ellsbury

With a filthy rotation that looks like this:

1.  John Lester
2.  John Lackey
3.  Josh Becket
4.  Diasuke Matsuzaka
5.  Clay Buckholz

Suffice it to say that 2011 will not be a bridge year in Boston.

  1. The Red Sox are going to be running Fucking circles around the major leagues this year. With over 100 stolen bases between Crawford and Ellsbury. Look for Ortiz and Gonzo to have great years. JD Drew might even have a good year seeing as though it is a contract year. I am still all about benching his ass in favor of Ryan Kalish. There is some speculation out there that they are going to send Scutaro to the Mets for Carlos Beltran. He as long as JD drew isn't out there I will be happy!! I am finally excited about the Red Sox again!!!
